I am always striving to keep my body at its best and one of the ways I like to do this is by following the phrase "eating pretty." Eating Pretty means that to eat foods that your body will love becuase there is some sort of benefit provided to it! Foods that are "pretty" are going to make you feel pretty on the inside, and therefore look pretty on the outside! The moto behind this is that the better the food, the better the fuel and the more you body can do for you!
The first pretty food I want to introduce to your guys is my Easy, Yummy & Healthy Oatmeal Bowl!
Todays post is inspired by one of my favourite influencers, Lauren Elizabeth (@laurenelizabeth). her latest video is "3 ways to eat oatmeal" - and this is my take on her recipe!

What you will need:
3 1/2 tablespoons of Plain Rolled Oat
1/3 of an apple
Whole pecan's - about a handful
1/8 teaspoon of brown sugar (optional)
Lots of Chia Seeds
a spoonful of peanut butter
and cinnamon to taste.
The first step is to place your 3 1/2 tablespoons of plain rolled oats into a bowl. Use plain rolled oats! Anything that comes flavoured has a ton of added sugars and salt that you do not need (and trust me, it will be sweet enough without it!)
Then you are going to add hot water - I just boil my electric kettle, but you can also add water then pop it in the mircowave for a couple seconds. Be sure to add in enough water to soak the oats, but not too much to make it soupy!
Next your going to add the flavours! Add in your diced apples, whole pecans, 1/8 teaspoon of brown sugar (optional), cinnamon to tase (i used an 1/8 teaspoon), chia seeds (use as much as you want! These little guys are a super food and don't have a taste!), and a spoonful of peanut butter (be sure to not add more then a spoonful! The taste and texture can get overwhelming really fast!)
once everything is added in, your going to stir it all together and enjoy!
This bowl literally takes like 5 mins to make and is an amazing kick-start to your morning! It's not only super easy and quick to make it has amazing health benefits for your body!
Rolled Oats: amazing source of fiber (more than any other grain), contains zinc (helps with hormone production, improves immunity, facilitates digestion & is a natural anti-inflammatory), magnesium (for lowered blood pressure and increased bone development), & phosphorus (for strong bones, a natural body detox, balance of Ph levels, and maintains high energy).
Pecans: are a heathy unsaturated fat that also contain significant levels of fiber, zinc, magnesium & phosphorous, as well as potassium. They also contain an upward of 19 vitamins and have antioxidants to assist in the appearance of aging and clear skin.
Apples: also contain antioxidants, fiber, and vitamins.
Cinnamon: is also an antioxidant, helps with anti-inflammatory, increased brain function, and helps fight infections.
Peanut Butter: contain high levels of protein
and Chia Seeds: are a superfood, known for their incredibly high levels of Omega 3 protein's, energy increasing abilities and skin clearing benefits, they also contain high levels of fiber and natural vitamins.
Needless to say, this bowl is a killer breakfast option! I recommend having this bowl with a side of fruit (watermelon or blueberries) and a big glass of water (extra points for adding lemon to your water)!
